Blepharoplasty or Eyelid surgery is a type of cosmetic surgery of removing excess fat that forms on the upper and lower eyelids.
Blepharoplasty removes the bags that appear with the passage of time under the eyes and improves the appearance of tired eyes; returning to face a brighter look, youthful and fresh.
Types of Eyelid Surgery
There are two different types of blepharoplasty operations:
Blepharoplasty: The aim is to remove excess upper eyelid skin, which produces the look tired or sad expression. In the upper blepharoplasty incision is made in a small crease to remove the excess skin. Also with this technique are raised eyebrows and crow’s feet tense.
Lower blepharoplasty: This technique eliminates the bags of the eyes that makes our eyes look tired. In this case it makes a split in the lower eyelid to prevent scarring, and remove excess fat.
In both cases local anesthesia is used with sedation or local only. During the first few days the skin is so inflamed, the surgeon usually prescribes some anti-inflammatory; in this time of recovery should not be using makeup, and it is recommended to use sunglasses.
The results of blepharoplasty are very durable, even in some cases you may notice the rejuvenating effects of the surgery of the eyelids up to ten years after the operation. Live a healthy life and a proper diet help delay the onset of the signs of aging. The prices of a blepharoplasty range 1,500 to 2,000 euro.
