The main difference is that the apnea brings together an interruption of breathing during sleep. People with distressed also often suffer drowsiness and fatigue during the day. Although snoring, contrary to popular belief, is not synonymous with sleep, as it can alter the rest besides affecting the cardiorespiratory system. Both one as another sleep disorder can be treated and prevented, as sleep apnea, for example, may be related to other diseases such as hypertension or cardiovascular disorders.
Sleep is essential for the proper functioning of our body as it is the best way to get the energy to restore bodily functions. Two disorders that can alter are snoring and sleep apnea (known as obstructive sleep apnea syndrome) which, although in some cases might think they are related, have their differences.
Snoring can indeed be a symptom or sign of apnea, but not all people who snore have it. In fact, snoring can be defined as a noise caused by vibration of the throat. Apnea also accompanied by a cessation of breathing for a few seconds, interrupts ending with a movement similar to spasm of the body or sudden movement of arms and legs.
