Snoring and Sleep Apnea: What’s the difference?

The main difference is that the apnea brings together an interruption of breathing during sleep. People with distressed also often suffer drowsiness and fatigue during the day. The diagnosis of sleep apnea is important because it can be related to other health conditions such as hypertension, respiratory or cardiovascular problems (heart arrhythmias, for example). Excessive Sleepiness and fatigue during the day are also symptoms characteristic of individuals diagnosed with apnea, as well as the feeling of not having rested, headache and dry mouth. It is also advisable to avoid the consumption of snuff, alcohol, caffeine and other exciting substances, especially before bedtime. Any pharmacological treatment should be done under medical prescription, and sleeping pills can lead to self-medicate the opposite effect and increase the occurrence of apnea during sleep. Try sleeping on your side rather than your back is a posture that will favor having less sleep apnea during sleep hours.
