These vitamins are the precursors for FADH2 and NADH, the cofactors required to produce ATP, the high energy molecule which is the body's metabolic fuel. These cofactors play an important role in the oxidation and transport of iodide to tissues (thyroid, muscle, ovary, breast, etc.).
